kantha tote bag
kantha tote bag
In Sanskrit, the word “kantha” means rags, referring to old saris (the principal garment of women worn in India ) and other pieces of discarded fabric. These kantha tote bags are made from multiple layers of old, heavy-stitched kantha as a way of repurposing old fabric.
Each tote bag is made in India from recycled kantha textiles, so colors and patterns are all one-of-a-kind. If you have a color preference leave a note at checkout and we’ll do our best to find a match for you.
You may notice some wear on the fabric and some patches that add to the beauty and story of each piece. Photos are representative of this item. Colors and patterns will vary.
These bags measure 18”x17”, with a 24” strap, and a pocket on the outside.
