my one, true recharge

The more I explore how to live in balance, the more I seek means of authentic replenishment, and ways to live honestly with my energy... the more I come to know that my one true recharge is nature. Yes, a massage is lovely; yes, I cherish energy work; yes, practice is a necessary ingredient; yes, what I eat matters; but the truest self-care I can practice is to get out in IT. To see it, smell it, feel it, and soak it in. There I am cleared, there I am refilled.

I think this is why travel is so important to me. It forces my hand, gets me out of my ruts, and usually always gets me outside for infinitely more hours than my at-home life. Time in nature is a critical piece of ojas building.

Some nights when I get home from my clinical practice, tired and pranically depleted - a solid day spent inside - and itโ€™s already dark, and so cold - I get out of my car and head right into the backyard to see the Momma Tulip Poplar. I just rest against her and let her unburden me of a day of each of us doing the best we can. I feel her life force, her wisdom - and that five minutes breathing with my tree is enough. That five minutes gets more to the root cause than any of the the glass of wine, or mindless scrolling, or binge watching distractions ever could.

Sending you love from Lake Michigan. May Momma Nature nourish you today.
